When adopting a Doberman you will have to
sign a contract and agree to the following terms.

You will give this dog proper food, water
and shelter at all times and veterinary treatment when necessary,
incl. proper shots (DHLP-P shots annually and rabies shorts
every 3 years) Your treatment of the dog will be humane and
loving for the rest of its life. I agree to be legally and financially
responsible for the dog henceforth.

I understand that the Doberman Pinscher
Rescue places dogs only as family pets and that legal action
may be taken against you if you adopt a dog for any other purpose
(i.e. For the use as a guard dog)

If you cannot retain possession of the dog,
you will contact Rita Whipple immediately. (After 30 days refund
or donation is optional) If the dog becomes lost, I will notify
the Doberman Pinscher Rescue immediately and follow instructions
for recovering the dog. You will not sell or give the animal
to any person, company, organization, medical research facility,
pound or animal shelter.

You will keep an I.D. tag with my phone number
and/or address on the dog at all times. You will keep the dog
on a leash when you take it out of a confined area and will
keep the dog tethered on both sides if transporting it in the
back of any open vehicle. You will not leave the dog unattended
while it is wearing a choke chain.

You understand that Rita Whipple may make
follow up visits at mutually convenient times to ascertain that
the conditions above are being met. If I fail to comply with
the terms of agreement, the Doberman Pinscher Rescue reserves
the right to repossess the dg and any litigation costs will
be borne by you, as well as any costs necessary to rehabilitate
the dog.

Though every effort has been made to ensure
that this dog is a healthy, loving pet, the Doberman Pinscher
Rescue cannot be liable for any injuries the dog could inflict
on any person after leaving the Doberman Pinscher Rescue facility.
A copy of this contract or a version of the above will be presented
to you for your signature at the time of adoption.
